The Hiden Analytical Knowledgebase is a document repository of information useful for Hiden equipment users and the quadrupole mass spectrometry community more generally.

The system contains a wide variety of information - fundamental data, literature references, product specifications and mechanical data, software downloads, topical information, newsletters and much more.

Access to the system is structured - some sections are publicly available, others require registration, and the documents themselves may be located by using the hierarchical folder structure or the built in search facility.
A document held in the system can be any type of electronic document or file that a user can access from their computer. Typically these may be plain text, word processing files, spreadsheet, or PDF files or - less frequently - audio and video or executable program files. Once having located a document within the system, registered users have several options for download and viewing. All these facilities are easily available through the use of any commonly available Internet Browser, such as Firefox, Safari, Netscape, or Explorer.

Documents are stored in the system in folders ("categories") and each folder can have a series of sub folders. This type of structure is known as a hierarchical structure and is analogous to that used for the storage and organization of files on your computer's hard drive. In the Knowledgebase, the start point of the hierarchy (or root) is known as the Documents folder. The folder structure groups documents in a (hopefully!) meaningful fashion, folder titles indicating content rather than document type. For instance, the "Applications Information" folder contains (sub-folders) for Applications Notes, Presentations, and Technical Information which could be "PowerPoint", PDF, drawings of various types, or simply plain text. Some proprietary system document require you to view and accept a user license before the system will allow download.
